Another artistic photo... And was it worth all that effort?
Vlad (ytrewq), - a simple artistic photo, 10 interesting shots in 15 minutes (no effort at all), the photographer's play with his tourist friends in the clearing, and the low sun playing in the narrow forest alley (15 minutes and it's gone). Vlad - what do you think? :curvesmile
- Vlad, you were trying to be sarcastic about me by making up some kind of effort. You could just ask about the actual shooting conditions, if you're genuinely interested.)
Author, Dmitry, I certainly didn't imagine anything. Why would I?)
I'm happy for you, your friends, etc. But could you explain, if you don't mind, why "Artistic Photography"?
Vlad (ytrewq), - It's hard for me to explain it to you alone – it's a production line. What confused you about the category? Where would you classify this photo based on your knowledge of history, psychology, and art criticism?
- Vlad, you were trying to be sarcastic about me by inventing some kind of effort... You could just ask about the actual shooting conditions, if you're genuinely interested.] Author, Dmitry, you misunderstood. The reference to effort wasn't directed at you. It was referring to the effort spent on creating/opening/filling this "Artistic Photography" category. Nothing more.
I'm not interested in the shooting conditions.
[quote]It's hard for me to explain it to you alone in detail.
And it won't be hard for someone else to do it alone? I take it?
Where would you classify this photo based on your knowledge of history, psychology, and art criticism?
So, what's artistic about your photo? I'm truly curious about your thought process when choosing a category.
Vlad (ytrewq), - Got to my computer now, I can see what's used to fill the HF on this photo portal and where the issues stem from. Although my criteria are simple, I'll try to summarize them briefly. This photo is artistic because it's not documentary, factual, or utilitarian. That is, it conveys an image, but not information about time, place, or event, etc. The plot of this photo was staged and acted out using a natural studio. I hope these criteria are simple and clear. What are your criteria for artistic work, be it photography, film, or forging and casting? Please describe it, as I still don't understand your questions and concerns.
Belsky (Dmitry Belsky), I'm not criticizing, I'm simply curious about your criteria for choosing a category. Nothing more. I don't criticize photos. I'm not a critic.
Vlad (ytrewq), - Thank you, that makes it clearer. I'm not a critic either, and I type with two fingers. I prefer to spend my evenings at real exhibitions and live chats with my fellow artists and photographers than sitting over a keyboard.
Vlad (ytrewq), - Thanks, that's clearer. I'm not a critic either and I type with two fingers. I prefer to spend my evenings at real exhibitions and live communication with my artist-photographer friends than sitting over typing.
Belsky (Dmitry Belsky), I type quickly, I'm not ready for exhibitions yet (and maybe I never will be), and I use typing to communicate with real, live photographer friends. Render unto Caesar what is Caesar's, and unto the mechanic what is the mechanic's.
Heh)) And who secretly changed my category to "Life Around Us"? Moderators, please respond!)
Belsky (Dmitry Belsky), the only moderator, or rather curator, of this "HF" category remains. It's Alexey Krik. A couple of weeks ago, he asked not to upload photos to this category until the situation with it is resolved. The situation isn't being resolved—it's hanging in the air. Suggestions about how this category could continue to exist have been voiced, but the Administration is silent. Therefore, the category is essentially open, but photos from it are being moved to "Life Around Us," again, until the situation is resolved.
Vlad (ytrewq), I've not only decided to return to moderating HF, but also to do as the Master suggested: I'll be moving images to this section without asking the authors (except for a few). Don't cry over your hair after you've taken it off

Andrew Kud, something tells me that only those who don't know the history of this category will be uploading their works here from now on. And they'll be kicked out soon. So, the category won't be filling up, but will remain as is for a long time.
By the way, I understand that Belsky (Dmitry Belsky) doesn't agree with this move of his works.
Vlad (ytrewq), are you mistaken? The SF category has started to fill up, I think.
Takprosto, no, I'm not mistaken. The SF collection is being updated, whether the author wants it or not, but the SF section isn't. That's what I was saying.
Thoughts out loud: I won't be focusing on the current situation, nor will I study the full range of categorizations of categorical categories; I don't really have the time anyway... Nowadays, "at the parapet-making plant," you have to grind away on the conveyor belt from bell to bell, "sharpening balusters," and after the conveyor belt, there's no time for categories. And my own knowledge and opinion tell me that Art is, to a large extent, a game... with form, with texture, with material, with plot, and everything else that can be involved in artistic play. A systematized, automated game, perfected to a cliché called an author's style, is closer to craft. Enjoyable Games in all categories and good Light..)) 03.23_09.10.2015
So, can you tell me what's artistic about your photo? I'm really interested in your thought process when choosing a category.
Vlad, A very stupid question: "...what's artistic about your photo..." Beauty (artisticity) is in the eye of the beholder, but the beholder can be blind.

Georgy, it's very stupid to make comments without understanding the context.
And was it worth all that effort?
I'm happy for you, your friends, etc. But if you don't mind, could you explain why "Artistic Photo" specifically?
Vlad (ytrewq), - It's hard for me to explain it to you alone – it's a production line. What confused you about the category?
Where would you classify this photo based on your knowledge of history, psychology, and art criticism?
At home, perhaps.
You're expressing yourself somewhat confusingly and evasively.
Vlad (ytrewq), - DF is a great category, but I've made my own decision here.
So, what artistic aspects of your photo can you tell me? I'm really interested in your thought process when choosing a category.

You can assume I would have done it if A. Krik hadn't deleted it.
